From their earliest days, children find comfort in process and sequence. Confidence and security is built through repetitive routines like bedtime, daycare schedules, and morning routines. You can help your child build confidence while potty training by showing them that the potty process also has a routine.
Our potty training cards are designed to be left in a bathroom so that they can be used as your child progresses through their routine. Of course, they won’t be able to read the cards, but they can learn the sequence as they see the images of the steps they will take in the bathroom.
This product contains 13 cards. Each card is 3x5 inches big, and the cards are laminated so that they can easily be cleaned.
Typically, our moms hold the cards and change them for the toddler as their child progresses through the bathroom routine. When you begin to use the cards, saying the card’s steps out loud builds verbal communication skills in your toddler. As your toddler becomes more familiar with the routine, you can transition the verbalizing of steps to them by asking questions like, “What do we do next?” This builds sequential thinking and communication skills in your toddler - skills they will use for the rest of their life.
