Up and down, up and down, will they ever fall asleep? Keeping kids in bed can be a big challenge for moms. And, it’s a big challenge for everyone when they are grumpy the next day.
The stay in bed reward cards are designed to help with this problem. The card is designed for young children who need instant gratification and motivation to stay focused, but it can be used with any age child who is struggling to stay in bed.
The card is placed beside the child’s bed. Moms choose an increment of time and tell the child that they will return in that amount of time. If the child is lying in bed, the mom punches a hole in the card. At the end of 7 punches, the child is rewarded with a small treat for remaining in bed. (Obviously the reward should be the next day!)
Time in bed is not written on the cards so that moms can increase the amount of time children must remain in the bed to get a punch as the child becomes more comfortable staying in their bed at night. The child is not only rewarded with a punch for their card, but also with the comfort of knowing that mom remembers they are in bed and will check on them soon.
Each package of cards comes with 40 cards. The card size is 3.5 x 2 inches, the size of a business card.
